Fiesta Changes

A sign is posted at Fiesta Rancho stating that it will now take 1000 points
for $1.00 in the Gift Shop (up from 600 points-excluding cigarettes)
effective April 1. Perhaps this will be for all Stations?

Also, the BP on the quarter triple play progressives at Rancho is now a
funky 8/6 game with 130 for quads but no bonus pay for Aces, 2's, 3's or
4's. I don't know if the NSU game has been changed.

Regards,

Scot

The 8/6 game with 130 for quads is the Jacks or better paytable not the
Bonus poker. Just got through playing
and no pay tables have been changed.

The same sign went up at GVR this morning. For those that want
cigerettes, you'll have to get a comp from the rewards center as the
kiosks will be set to 1000 points for a $1.00. Another great move by
the corporate suits to increase their bottom line. Station's stock
prices are only up 25% this year. Profits rose to $166 million in 2005
over $66 million in '04. I just wish there were enough smart locals
that would boycott the place!

I just get irritated with all the cuts. No more change booths, instead
you get ticket machines that are sometimes empty. Buffets where the
offerings are slowly deteriorating in quality. Service at the coffee
shop where the food is of poor quality most times and slow in coming.
Resort taxes tacked on to the room bills that require my host to get
them removed. Downgrading of machine inventory. Now a 40% increase in
points to buy some overpriced "stuff" from the gift shop. How much is
enough?

I guess I must not be a smart local. Shirley and I both play at Chairman
level at both Fiesta and Station, which adds up to $1 million coin-in
per month between us, including both properties. I believe both are
decent plays.

Actually, he gave it away recently in one of his articles when he said (paraphrasing) "Let's say I'm playing Five-Play 9/5 SDB from midnite to 5am at Fiesta Henderson".

I went to Fiesta Henderson for the first time in years and looked around, and found that lo-and-behold there are (5) MGMD TITO uprights in high-limit with $2 9/5 SDB (Five-Play). Triple-Play is shorted at $2 and both are shorted for the $1 level. I couldn't check the (2) Five-Play slant-tops because they were in use, but they may have 9/5 SDB as well.

I really have a hate on for Stations, for a number of reasons. Their
business model is identical to Harrahs in almost every aspect of
operations. They make absolutely nothing sound like the greatest thing
in modern civilization (except not nearly as well as Harrahs pimps
that idea). They are a little too casual with minors in the casino,
and IMHO intentionally located the ice rink at Fiesta Rancho so minors
would have to walk through the casino. This factoid in particular
burns me a lot. The Food Court at Texas is a teen hangout. Does anyone
here see something wrong with that picture? I'm a fairly liberal guy
in many ways, but I am not ever letting my children anywhere near a
casino.

The ownership is very wealthy but with the "regular" Stations, seems
committed to offering a second rate product because they only have to
please working and middle class locals-compare to, say Cannery. Which
reminds me, the last time I tried to play blackjack "my way" at
Palace, like the billboard used to implore you to do, I had three
suits looking very nervously at me. But, that was a long time
ago...when Palace had one of the best coffee shops in Vegas.

I do like taking their money though. At the end of the day, that does
salve a lot of wounds and perceived slights.

I am pretty sure I know what Bob is playing at both Stations and
Fiestas. I didn't even know Fiesta had a blue card. In fairness to
Bob, omerta is in order. The Stations play makes a little more sense
than the Fiesta one.

I attended one of BD's classes at Fiesta
Henderson. SDB was one of the two games he covered
that day, albeit I was there because of my interest in
the other one.
He began the SDB lecture by saying "This is the
game I play here"

I agree that they are decent plays. Patti and I do enough coin-in to
get level 1 and 3 mailers which gives us pretty decent free play

each

month. I'm just frustrated with the cuts and was venting.

At GVR the cut applies only to the giftstore and one other place.
Most of the dining was already at 1000:1. I believe the buffet and
Hanks will remain at 600:1. For the smokers out there they cigs will
remain 600:1.
