FEB 2007 vpFREE Lunch @ Gold Coast - TOMORROW

The February vpFREE lunch is scheduled for Saturday 17 February at
the Gold Coast Buffet at 11:30 AM. Meet at the buffet entrance.
This is an informal, non-hosted, Dutch treat lunch, and there's
the possibility that no one will show up. Anyone planning to
attend should post an RSVP on vpFREE for coordination purposes.
If ten or more attend, a 17% tip must be paid in advance in order
for the group to be seated together.

In addition, a vpFREE lunch (or dinner) will be scheduled
whenever any member volunteers to be a host and posts the time
and location details on vpFREE. Interested attendees should RSVP
on vpFREE.

Notes: Buffets are usually more expensive and lines are usually
longer on weekends and holidays. Send any pictures to me and I'll
post a link to them.

Judy hit a Royal Flush--in Hearts--on Valentine's day (at Sam's
Town).
We plan to be at the Gold Coast, at 1130 tomorrow.

BTW, I really wish that they would either enforce the 17% when the
first group member pays, or "forget it" entirely. Collecting the
difference, from already-seated parties, is not at all "smooth".

IMO, best counter to the next time the 17% is assessed against
already-seated parties, is for everyone to leave a nickel tip.

Thanks for the RSVP

They don't collect the 17% group tip until/unless a group
numbers 10 or more.

On several occasions we've had less than 10 at 11:30
(no 17% advance tip due) and late arrivals have pushed
the total to 10 or more (17% is now due from everyone).

The Gold Coast is a lot more diligent in collecting group
tips than other buffets that we've used.

A nickel tip? How does that help anything? It's not the server who makes the policies.
