Believe it or not....the El Cortez has the best VP AND the easiest
room comps. Any $200 hit and you get your picture taken and get
added to the "Four Seasons" promo list. This entitles you to three
free room nights every quarter for the next THREE YEARS. The rooms
are surprisingly nice.
EC has .25/.50/1.00 KBJW, 100.9% return "Cortez Deuces"
in .25/.50/1.00, and plenty of 10/7 DB. Slot club is either .2
or .25 comps, I forget which.
Ignore the immediate neighborhood, and drop by and check it out.
The next best VP opportunity is Main St Station with the FPDW and
the scratch cards. Union Plaza has lots of fullpay in .25 and is
usually running a decent promotion of one kind or another. Las Vegas
Club has some FP in .25 denoms. Four Queens has a good slot club and
some .25 10/7 DB. Don't bother: Horseshoe, Golden Nugget, Fremont,
Lady Luck, Golden Gate, Scuzzy Sadie's (or whatever they're calling
it now) and Pitzgerald's. (Yes, the green monster has a few fullpay
machines, but the slot club, restaurants, and rooms are all
substandard,)
