Faulty machines; just how close are we being watched anyway??

Why didn't the Casino and the State of Indiana check these machines before
putting them into play? I wonder if some jurisdictions do a better job than
others!

And think about it; unless security was looking right over this guys
shoulder at the time, why would they be paying any attention .......

I wonder if it isn't likely that someone was repeatedly putting in
money and cashing out. That would draw attention and would be the MO
of some folks who stumbled on such a find.

This reminds me of an experience I had in Palace Station several
years ago. On several visits (successive days) I always played the
same VP machine. I noticed, when I cashed in my coins, I got more
back than expected. At first I thought it was my mistake. But after
4-5 days I put in a $10 bill, cashed out without playing, and when
the coins were counted I was paid about $11 ... hmmm, a game with a
guaranteed 110% return! I had to leave right away, but when I
returned the next day there was a sign on the machine saying it
was "broken". The following day the sign was removed, so I played,
figuring the problem was fixed. Well, it wasn't ... when I cashed
out I still received about 10% more coins than I should. Then a
light bulb went off ... I'm being watched. They want to know who was
ripping them off, and get it on camera. I stopped playing. The next
day the machine was fixed. Doesn't it seem likely someone was
milking that machine dry, and they wanted to know who it was.
