I hope you are correct in your prediction that ROJ will be back
sometime in the future.

For those who miss ROJ so much, contact him directly, ask what
boards he
subscribes to & subscribe to the same ones. I can't imagine ROJ
not posting
somewhere. He needs an audience. Just remember he doesn't want
any objective
feedback.
When ROJ was suspended, I thought the digests would be cut in
half. But it
looks like others have stepped in to fill the void. Some may be
bored with the
lack of pot-stirring & liken the current atmosphere to plain
vanilla. But I
like vanilla. That's why I hope ROJ's pout becomes permanent.

Hi Glenn,
It's nice to hear from you again.
I have read your post carefully, and thought about it for awhile,
before sending this response. I'm afraid that as much as I value
your opinion, I must respectfully disagree with your premise. (And
I do mean RESPECTFULLY! I know that you've been a great help to
many on this board, both newbies & oldbies, and I very much enjoy
your posts and value your informed opinions).
As to your suggestion that I correspond privately with ROJ,your
point is well taken. I have done that, and enjoyed our exchange of
ideas.
Your further suggestion that I "join other boards to which ROJ
subscribes", is, I believe, not a valid argument as to whether ROJ
should also be welcome to express his thoughts on this board.
Perhaps, if I had unlimited time to post on many boards, I would not
feel that I was deprived of reading ROJ's (IMO interesting) posts on
vpFREE. As it is, I already spend much too much time, posting on
this forum (both privately and publicly) and time would not permit
me to post on other forums as well.
But, more importantly, to me, a free flow of ideas, even those that
are controversial to most, should be permitted to be aired on forums
such as this. Of course, all posters should be subject to the NPC
rule that is now in effect.
In this regard, I really felt that ROJ had made much progress.
Comparing his recent posts to those of 3 or4 months ago, it seemed
obvious (to me) that he was trying to respond to those who disagreed
with him, in a much more civil manner. Others, I'm sure will
disagree with me, and that is also fine.
If we all posted messages consisting of nothing but total agreement
with each other, what would be the point?
I guess that what this all comes down to, is the strong belief that
we should all be free to post our opinions (including those that may
seem outragious to the majority of us) as long as the posts are
civil and within the realm of polite discourse.
Cheers,
Babe
