This discovery was only made possible by my wonderful wife, Cathy.
She allowed me one week of solo time since she's going to Orlando
over Christmas to play Bridge at some
regional. I feel great now that I finally

Fantastic new find
Years ago, my wife hit a penny 7/5 bonus poker royal for $40. The spike was one of the first places in recent years to have semi-full pay penny VP slots, not sure if they are giving customers the "shaft" yuk yuk in the copper mine?

Tom, the thing that scares me is that when the pros find out about this oportunity they will be knocking some poor old bag ladies off the stools to get at these machines. This is of course a result of our "sunshine" policy. Russ

Good point. I hear teams are already hitchhiking in from Detroit
(hotbed of VP pro activity) and pooling their money to come up with
the requisite fifty-dollar bankroll. Perhaps there will be a

This isn't a very attractive opportunity to pros, because of the
overhead: to spend any length of time in the Gold Spike safely, you
need to don a floor-length condom and carry in your own personal
oxygen supply. Both of these things are expensive and could easily
negate the three cents an hour a skilled VP pro can rip loose from
the casino's clutches (disregarding the value of the bonus turkey
sandwich when you hit a royal).
Besides, there are plenty of "Vegas VP pros" who are in the "final
stage" and sell most of their food stamps every month in order to
scare up a bankroll to play .05 and .01 VP, in the hopes of someday
regaining that fifty-thousand-dollar bankroll they lost
playing "fullpay" VP. You shove THEM off the stools, they'll just
get up again; they're strong from all those 99-cent El Cortez
breakfasts.
