Fallsview

I just went to Fallsview for the first time yesterday. What a
beautiful casino. Played $5 PE for between 4 and 5 hours. I figured
I put at least $40,000 through the machine. It was a double point
day. Ended up getting only $66 cash back. This seemed like a small
amount on double points day. Anyone had a similar experience? Did I
do something wrong?

Keith

The doubling may not take place until the next day, they could double the totals after their clock switches to a new day. Just a guess.

Because return percentages (and player knowledge) are usually higher
on high-denomination machines, some casinos may require a higher
wager to earn points. For example, Casino Rama requires $11 for a
point at 25c and $1 machines, but requires $15 for a point at $5
machines.
Also, the casino may have known that you are a skilled player and
excluded you from the promotion.

I do not believe those numbers are correct for video poker at Casino
Rama.

It takes $15 to earn a point at up to and including $1 machines, and
$30 to earn a point at higher denominations.

You are correct. Sorry, I haven't been to Rama in a while. Woodbine
has BETTER RETURN video poker (99.95% vs. 99.54%) for LOWER wagers
($1.25 vs. $7.50) at a CLOSER location (from Toronto) and a CHEAPER
ride ($4.50 TTC cash vs. $5 + $1 "tip" Tai Pan).

Rama has slightly better comps, though....

Rama has much better comps if you are putting in a lot of play. They also have bonus bounce back cheques if you play over 4k per day that get the payback very close to the Woodbine level. The good comps are what keep me going back there more than at Woodbine. A big plus on the Woodbine side is the non-smoking in the Casino.

As Albert points out in reply to your post, the bonus cash (plus the
cashback) at Rama makes the JOB a pretty decent play, at 100.32%.
That, plus the generous comps, is enough to keep me going there.

I agree with you about the $7.50 per hand (for triple play at 10
credits per line). You can go through several hundred dollars very
quickly when things aren't going well. We've learned to live with
the bad sessions, because we know there will be good ones, too.

Incidentally, I just came across a "You Just Get More" brochure from
Rama. I can confirm that the information in your previous post
regarding coin-in requirements was correct for slot machines.
