Exclusion based on skill

RalphCTS wrote about Greektown in Detroit excluding skilled vp players.

Today, I was asked to leave Greektown. I was told that I was an advantage
player and asked not to frequent any Greektown property. Now, what I have been
playing at Greektown lately is the 50 play nickel bonus poker machines. Yes, I
was booted as an advantage player on a 99.17% game. Go figure.

There have been lots of players banned recently and the common thread seems to
be a large comp balance. I had heard one person was banned after hitting a 10K
royal on a short pay pick em game. Greektown seems to be banning players who
win, regardless of how bad the game is.

I have no problem with a casino banning skilled players who make money on
positive games. I got barred because a) I was playing a positive game? No. b)
Because I hit for a big jackpot ? No, my w/l statement will show a loss at
Greektown for the year. c) Because I have a big comp balance? Maybe.

Greektown has a different group calling the shots now and things have gone
downhill since them.

I heard from a couple of players that there was a protest outside of Greektown.
A few dozen people with signs. I didn't get the details but the cops broke it
up.

This truly has got to be one for Ripley's Believe it or Not! You guys
in Detroit must really be hurting them badly. Hell, they must be
worried about having to set up a special loss provision for you guys
in their quarterly financial statements and having to explain it to
the shareholders.

I would contact the local gaming commission. Outside the state
of Nevada, such barrings are not necessarily legal.

I think the best way to handle this would be for several of you to
get together and contact the local press for them to do a story on
this. The key here would be that the general public might read this
as that the casino is banning people for winning. If that word of
mouth spreads, they will suffer greatly as some of the general public
avoids this casino. Other casinos will see this too and learn from
it.

Hi Bill

I think the groups better way would be to take their lawyer with
them. Maybe a secret video camera too. Then get some jerk suit to
grab one of the players and eject the player. If they were lucky
enough to pull this one off it would pay way better than a regular
Royal. Having a lawyer with them would insure the citizens don't do
something wrong, not knowing law.

But this is just a dream. Most of us don't go out of our way to do
such things.

Any updates on this?
