I have to agree Martin- the food spread at the EW was very nice on
that VIP deal. It was much more upscale than I expected. They even
had cloth tablecloths and attentive waitstaff. The basket was full of
goodies too. I brought the whole thing home, and I am enjoying it
now. However,I kind of hated wearing that badge around when I
wandering the river.

Here is my take on the VIP promo. Hamstockman cordially invited me "to be
his friend" under the promo. So I got a nice Sedona tower riverview room on the
16th floor just like Hamstockman. I got to check-in seperately alot earlier
than his arrival to town.

The room was just fine...no crud behind the furniture (unlike at RP). The
towels in the bathroom were limited...two of each kind. That was fine being
solo. But if I brought a woman with me who burns up towels... The light strip
in the bathroom was hung crooked and the showerhead could use a bath of
Lime-away. The AC unit put-out better than anything on the river. It was hard for
me to dial-it down. It was my first stay at EW since a comped/birthday four
day/weekend "adventure" in January 2004. Back then they cleaned out my comp
acount under the One Card, I had security pounding on my door on a Saturday night
thinking I was the guy throwing the furniture out their window...one of those
type trips.

But the VIP promo did not allow Hamstockman to bring a bud to the VIP food
spread. Sure he got me a room, but the invite was not extended to the
hospitality suite. Hey, I am not bitching, but it seems some VIPs just might be a bit
pissed about such a constraint.

One day Hamstockman brought me a cookie (chocolate-chip) after visting his
VIP food offerings. I declined after the hours that it was stuck in his shirt
pocket. But to his better hygeine actions the next day I got to sample a VIP
brownie wrapped in fine napkins the next day. It was tasty.

We filled out his 50 Endless Summer entries, but only made 3 of the 6
drawings on that Tuesday. That is just too many hoops to jump through for such
little return.
