EW March Mailer - I Was Stiffed!

MGM Mirage acquired Mandalay (which owns EW and CB in your town). Deal
should close shortly.

Harrahs acquired Caesars (Flamingo in your town).

On another note, one of the One Club workers told me the Edgewater
was bought out by MGM. He was recommending I use up my food and
hotel comps and consider cashing out my cash back. It's at a few
hundred each.

Anybody else heard info on this?

Also, I can't keep track of all the casino mergers and takeowvers
around Laughlin and Vegas. If anybody can post a brief recap of
casinos sales/merger action I'd appreciate it.

There is one more deal on the table. The Golden Nugget in Lauglin has
been sold to Barrick. This is the downtown Las Vegas king. I might
also note that none of the three deals have been completed yet, and
there apears to be no major roadblocks to stop them from going
through. I was in town a couple of weeks ago, and the big suits from
MGM/Mirage were kicking tires to see what they had bought. All the
employees were on alert, and were a bit nervous about the guys in the
suits (about 10 of them).

I doubt you will lose any of your comp dollars, but it sure wouldn't
hurt to bring them down a bit. MGM/Mirage is interested in keeping
customers and not making enemies. It should be a smooth transition to
the new owners, but what happens then is anyones guess. You always
wonder what they will think about all the FP VP machines in town. (?)
