EW-CB - 'vip' tease; HL - new DL hrs...

Hi all - just got back from the first early 'warm up' weather, as
temps hit 105++ this past weekend!

EW-CB/ Apparently I THOUGHT I had reached 'VIP' gold level; but that
is a misnomer (sp?)? For MAY ONLY - CB is temporarily upgrading those
that earn 2000 pts daily avg (so $3000 in non-100% vp, like BP
bartops, etc), they are upgraded for SOME perks.

DAILY DINING CARD - after a FRIENDLY, and informative discussion with
a host at EW on Sat morning (Friday evening - odd, after 5 pm, NO
HOSTS were available due to some emergency I was told).

PREFER to see 5000-10000 PTS DAILY for that comp 'B' card, which at EW
is limited (due to their dining options). I mean, other than the
Hickory Stkhouse, everything else is just palatable (I'm being 'nice').

However- JUNE trip I'm SUPPOSED to have a EW 'Suite'; For those who
have stayed HERE, is it worth it? Or better to switch back to CBelle??

I did eat ONE dinner buffet - edible, but not extraordinary, however
price for the pts (700) on weekends was ok comp.

COCOs : MIXED quality here. BKFST for 4.99 was fantastic, and even
choice of bread was a bonus - coffeecake (warm!) vs usual toast,
muffins, or biscuits.

LUNCH one day was LAME: I used $5 poker comp coupon for the Chix
Tortilla soup (which was ok). HOWEVER, it took over 20 min, and the
BREAD (std. coco's Pumpernickel and sourdough/mini-frenc) was quite
OVER BAKED and DRY! In addition, server only came back ONCE to check
on things, so I left no tip for the non-service.

EW : I do like their POKER ROOM, vp availability, and PARKING GARAGE!
Proximity to the AQ is nice (at least in cooler evening; I even was
able to stand outside their 'concert' venue and hear the POINTER
SISTERS still belting out their hits....

CB : I much prefer their dining options (had a relaxing meal as the
sun set over the river Friday in Mississippi Lounge!). Also similar
mix of vp games/availability; HOWEVER - and a big drawback, imho,
is the wide-open Parking Lot. Reminds me ALOT of the LA area poker
rooms, which I no longer visit. What would it take for Marnell to
build at least SOME kind of shaded parking area on his expansive
resort property???

HL DL: NO MORE BKFST! Bummer, I was just beginning to enjoy that
one nice amenity (basic cold cereals, milk, fruits, yogurts, muffins,
etc.) but alas-- NO MORE!
NEW HOURS: Opens at NOON - 9 PM (Sat-Sun).
M-Fri only 4 PM to 9 PM!

Well - that's all for now.
