The situation: you have just drawn to AKQJ of spades, and gotten the
10 of....clubs, or you just drew to 444, then 222, then AAA, and in
each case received a 6 and a Jack, or you held 5678 of hearts and
drew a black 3. We've noticed, over the years, that when this
happens, almost immediately afterward comes a nice hand with a
decent payout, like a full house in DB or a straight flush in DW.
This, we speculated, was to assuage our anger at the previous
result, and, we thought, to keep us from caving in the screen with
our fists (a few hands like the ones decribed above, and the urge
was certainly there). Thus we coined the term, "screen saver hand";
in this case the machine is attempting to save its own screen.

Or...how many times have you been down to your last few credits and THEN started to win. My typical session starts with me hitting a few good hands and being up from my starting point. Usually start with $20.00, and go up to around $35.00, then I start the downward slide. Can't hit a hand to save my life, not even high pair. Until I get down to 5 or 10 credits left and THEN I'll get something. It's like they know if I end on a losing streak I'm not as likely to put in another 20 as I am to if I ended on what I may feel is the beginning of a hot streak.
I saw this happen with VP and with a .25 reel slot. I know they are regulated and supposed to be random....it's just fishy when stuff like that happens.
