I just wanted to thank everyone once again for the feedback on VP in Monaco. I didn't have a lot of time due to a lagging girlfriend and a 23:58 last return train to Nice, but I did make it to the casino in Monte Carlo for a short time. Due to time constraints, rather than spending an hour looking at pay schedules, I settled in at a single line, one Euro 8/5 JoB machine. A couple hands in I hit 4 Jacks to give me a little buffer against the pay schedule. I ended up playing for about an hour and came out 230 Euro ahead. What I saw of the casino and grounds was beautiful.
I also hit one of the casino's in Berlin, Germany for a couple hours. I believe the name was Casino Berlin. The very limited .50 euro VP had horrible pay schedules, 7/4 JoB was the best I saw. I got up a couple hundred Euro using the double option, but gave it all back pretty quickly given the odds. I jumped over to a single zero roulette table for a while and dropped a few euro there too. After losing about the same amount as I had won earlier in the week, I called it a night and we left.
I was gambling more for the experience than anything else, but it sure made me appreciate the pay schedules in Vegas and Lake Tahoe, not to mention the variety and abundance of machines. We've got it pretty good.
