On our last 4 or more trips to Caesars Palace we've found erroneous charges
on our bills. Twice we checked out with 0 balances, only to have charges pop
up on our charge card. In all cases we were able to get the charges
removed, however, it is annoying to have this happen every single time. In all
cases we were in the Augustus Tower.
This time we never came anywhere near the mini-bar, yet $21 in charges for
minibar showed up on the bill - and were removed after we notified front desk.
Person to contact and complain to if this is happening to you on your trips
is
Marcus G. Lidey, Director VIP Srevices, 702-731-7281,
_lideym@caesarspalace.com_ (mailto:lid…@…com)
He informed me that sometimes minibar charges will show up on your bill, the
maid will check the minibar after you leave, and the minibar fee will be
corrected. He said the minibar was sensitive, and charges could show up if you
just open the fridge door or touch products. He couldn't explain our charges
when we came nowhere near the bar.
Some hints to avoid overcharges (useable at any hotel!):
Check your bill daily on the Menu on TV.
Check to make sure there are no bills under an extra "folio" - for example a
husband and wife each have a separate folio.
Don't touch or open the minibar!
Contact front desk if there are wrong charges and normally they are quickly
removed.
Upon checkout, get a printed copy of the bill.
Check your monthly Visa and Mastercard bills thoroughly to make sure you
don't have wrong charges - and complain if you do. If you do you can contact
your credit card company and the hotel's billing office to get the charges
removed.
If extra charges seem to be coming every time you stay - complain to
management such as Mr. Lidey above!
