Chris hates the new uprights, like the fullpay bank at M. She says they're even more uncomfortable than the old style uprights. She sits all different ways with feet propped up and not, etc. Says her back hurts after about an hour.
to each their own. i can't play the old-style uprights for any length
of time without pain. the new ones are a lot better for me, though
slants are still preferable by far.
I would think an Industrial Engineer with experience in ergonomics could do much better -- I assume the manufacturers have one on staff or at least use one for consultation?
atronic has an upright slot cabinet that's utterly brilliant; both the
button panel and the dual LCD screens are mounted on a vertical track,
and can be raised or lowered by the player with the press of a button.

sadly, it appears that atronic does not make video poker machines. i
hope IGT copies or licenses this design soon, because it'd do wonders
to provide greater comfort to players.
