>So who has a story or an observation about this past year in
Laughlin? Or maybe a wish for 2005?
>I discovered Laughlin this year after a driving weekend to LV. I'm
finding LV is getting too noisy, too crowded, and it's taking too
much effort to find good plays. My primary casinos there are really
upping the play requirements and the comps are shrinking. Laughlin is
a real discovery.

So you do a drive-in from California?
****
I didn't check the database, just took a room at Flamingo where my
two-deck BJ play was enough to comp the whole stay. Hit EW and CB
for VP. Liked the specialty restaurants at Flamingo and Riverside.
Now I get more offers than I can even imagine. I haven't even made
it up the hill to RP or Harrah's yet. After 10 LV trips in 2004
(which is way too many, I discovered too late), I think I'll focus on
Laughlin in the next year.

Currently the best BJ is at the Pioneer and Golden Nugget, though it won't
last. Single deck, H17, DD on any, DAS. Both joints bank your comps too.

My wish for 2005 is and always remains that $1 FPDW will return in
the form of Game Maker slant-tops with a view of the river. Now, how
likely is that?
****
Well the last $1 FPDW vanished in 2004 at the Riverside, one old IGT
slant-top. It was located right by the riverview bar where the bartender would take
care of you. Bally Gamemakers with 9/6 Jacks (.25, .50, $1) are in Sassy Sue's
Saloon bartops at the Pioneer.

Be aware Laughlin is moody. Now until Easter is snowbird season. Welcome to
the club. Speak up on any subject. A few of us get over there regularly.
Have you checked out laughlinentertainer.com ? The hard copy is in all the
casinos and the visitors center.
