Encore

Based on what the VP is at Wynn/Encore I am pretty certain the paytables will be lousy outside of High Limit and not so great even in High Limit.

What astounds me is the room rates. Rack rates are over $700 a night to open-which was expected. What I didn’t expect was that those rates stay there till after Thanksgiving and stay over $550 right through February, which is when I quit looking. Now no one is visiting Boston as a tourist in January so this is all LOCAL traffic.

The place looks absolutely fantastic and is sure to crush Foxwoods high roller crowd and whack Twin River too. Whether those rates hold I guess remains to be seen. It’s a 50 mile trip for me and I am getting old and worn out so I will make one trip there, play dollar VP and blow $500 max, assuming I don’t hit a $4000 royal. Hopefully they will send me a teaser offer so I can enjoy the hotel one time anyways. It won’t break me by ANY means but there is no way I am paying $700 for a freaking hotel room. I did a week in London and Paris for $1100 total, AIRFARE INCLUDED, back in 2003 so that tells you my level of frugality. I have stayed in some nice places-the Hilton, Rio, Peppermill, Atlantis, Taj Mahal, Foxwoods scores of times but all on discount or free rooms

No doubt VP will be lousy. However they will certainly greatly impact FW and MS. And not just the high rollers.

Those room rates will absolutely go down.

You say that you’re only 50 miles from Encore. How far are you from MS and FW ?

About the same distance-50 miles. But it’s all nice stress free low traffic highway miles compared to driving into Boston from central RI. Likely will take the train in then 10 stops north on the Orange Line to the free shuttle at the Wellington stop. Sure beats the misery of 93 through Boston.

NIce !!

I live halfway between Conn. casinos and AC. In either case close to a three hour drive.

Hoping when downstate NY gets casino licenses in 2023 I’ll have a much shorter drive .
