For those of you thought you'd move your play to the Empress now that
MS has cut so many of their good games... forgetaboutit!
The entire inventory of good games has been trashed. What's odd is
that although the 25c DDB Prog remains at 9/5, the $1 DDB Prog was
reduced from 9/6 to a pathetic 8/5. It is out of the ordinary to
find a casino who offers a better progressive game to their 25c
players than to their $1 players.
The 9/7 DB Prog is now at 9/6.
Kerry Kelly quit a couple of weeks ago (after working there for 13
yrs) without giving notice. He was likely my favorite host ever. He
will be missed by many. Even the staff are in mourning over his
leaving. Something very stinky is clearly going on over there.
The only marginally playable games left that I could find are:
(1) Flex Play $1/$2/$5 with 8/5 BP; requires 10 coins per line for a
minimum $30 bet.
(3) $5 9/6 DDB
These four machines are all in the High Limit area.
Having been a patron of the Empress for approx. 20 yrs, this is very
sad to me. This will greatly reduce the amount of vp I play as I
have been going there every 2-3 weekends for all these years. No
more. I figure I'll put about 6,000 less miles a year on my car and
will no longer need the I-Pass.
The only reason to revisit the Chicago area for play will be when
Ameristar takes over Resorts.
