Ely, NV casinos

The Hotel Nevada in Ely is a very old historic hotel that was once the

tallest building in Nevada. Back in the day movie stars going from
California to Sun Valley used to stay there<<

I've stayed there several times. They have rooms that are thematically
decorated around various movie and popular singing stars with photos and
other memorabilia on the walls. I remember the one time I ventured into their
blackjack game. I bet $15, won, raised it to $20, won, raised it to $25
and heard the dealer yell, "MAX BET!!" Who would've guessed? And no, there
was no VP that appealed even slightly.

They have good food in the restaurant - not fancy but the best fish 'n
chips I've had anywhere west of the Mississippi. However, you have to hit it
on whatever day it's a special. The drive down to Vegas is lovely, with
mountains most of the way, a big lake and plenty of cattle. There's a dirt
road short cut I tried once and don't recommend without a Jeep

Enjoy!!
