Ellis mailer - perhaps major changes afoot

My Feb. mailer arrived. No free play indicated except a large section stating:
"PASSPORT PERKS, free play is on the way"
Also a banner across the calendar section advertises:
"10X Points Available Every Day"

Ellis Island 10X really means (according to boothling and manager): 0-999 daily base points get NO mulltiplier
1,000 - 1,999 daily base points get 2X
2,000 - 4,999 daily base points get 4X
5,000+ daily base points get 10X

As an expirement, I played 5,645 in action.

I got 17,310 points awarded instead of the 21,450 I SHOULD get if the
above rules are correct. I saw these rules in the manual that the boothling
consulted when I checked my base points with her and asked about
the multipliers.

I spoke to a manager who explained that "their system was a little behind today"
and that I should get all the points when it catches up. However, I observed that
the system was keeping up on each hand I played and the kiosk agreed with the
display on the machine I played.

I shall follow up and report the results in a couple of days.

Under the previous tiered freeplay award system I would have received $25 today.
Instead, I got bupkiss, nada, zippo, goose egg, etc.

isn't 5,645 X 10 = 56,450 points?
do you only get 10X on the points above 5,000?

what did the slot club say about the free play situation?

Although there was /is a tier system at Ellis, it is my understanding that this did not affect point multipliers. Previously, on Sundays they were giving 3X, which is closer to (but not exactly) Gambl00r's results on Feb, 1.

The info I received from them lists "10x available daily" but also shows the
regular monthly multiplier days as always. Can anyone clarify? Thanks.

Each multiplier only applies to the range of points listed. On the first 999 points you earn, you will end up with single points regardless of how high your total action is for the day in question. The same applies to each multiplier tier. You will never get 10X on all your action for a day. Only base points above the 5,000 level are multiplied by 10.

I think a pretty low percentage of their clientele earn more than 5K in base points on a given day.

I would be weary of inquiring (written report/comment card) on your specific account where multiplier points haven't shown up. The only time I did this (2.5 years ago), they looked up my account and saw I was up a couple thousand. This lead to my departure (86s) from the property. I mostly played good games and multiplier days. Caution
