Thanks for the warning. It has me shaking in my boots as Koninski and
Dorsey have me visually flagged as an advantage player (I hit 7 royals in
a 3 mo period last year with very few hours involved at the machines)
I live close by and enjoy the benefits of IC level of play but will now
spread out my play.
There is a very ugly side of Ellis that only frequent visitors get to see
and usually in the wee hours... the open door policy for pimps drug
dealers and gang members who have money to play at the tables. Twice when
I was playing I got hit on by women who reeked of perfume and were loaded
on something. Most times you can watch as the pimp and his girl(s)
parade back and forth through the casino. The drug dealers back their
cars into spaces and hail each other. The sidewalk is crowded and not
with tourist traffic, with women and their pimps following behind.
Sometimes they block the entrances partly as a means to advertise. I
noticed one morning, a gang member playing blackjack while his "partner"
was acting like a look out, peering all over the casino. I felt very
uneasy, like they were casing the joint for a robbery, but it was just a
gang way of saying 'we are so tough we have to take turns watching our
backs'. A couple mornings ago I was playing NSU and the little craps
table was full of pimps who where blowing the hundreds of dollars earned
by their women in a loud boisterous manner, whooping and chanting. The
entire corner of Koval and Flamingo has an influence of the Ellis policy
in that lesser dealers and pimps hang out at the AM/PM and the 7/11
How can the management and owners of Ellis look themselves in the mirror
when the know how they are making money off stupid low life criminals?
In case any of you think prostitution is a fun thing I remind you of the
recent murder and attempted murder out in the desert. The pimp shot both
women in the head , one survived to testify against him. That happened in
a desert area near the Silverton (Valley View/Blue Diamond Hwy)

"stopped playing here." I told him that the Palms was running a good
promotion
in May (Covette + cash drawings), and that I was mostly playing there. I
also
mentioned that I was getting much less cash back now on the machines I
play
at EI.
He seemed satisfied, and told me to come in two days later, and my
coupons
would be waiting. I returned two days later, and, true to his word, they
were
there for me at the slot club.
End of story, right? Not quite...
Again, this month, I failed to receive my EI mailer. I figured maybe Mike
had
forgotten to "unflag" my account, so I stopped by this afternoon. Once
again,
Shirley called Mike, he appeared in a short time, shook my hand.
Me (smiling): Hi, Michael. Do I need to speak to you every month in order
to
get the mailer?
Mike: We're refusing service.
Me: What does that mean?
Mike: We're refusing service. We have that right.
Me: Have I done something wrong?
Mike: We're refusing service. That's all I'm going to say.
Me: So I won't be receiving mailers, right? And I can't play here?
Mike (nodding): We're refusing service.
Me: Very interesting. Thanks for your time.
So I cashed in my points and departed. As far as I know, I am the first
person to be "refused service" at EI. However, it is quite likely I won't
be the
last. Those of you who plan on playing there to receive the bounce back
mailings, be aware that the casino has the right to deny them to you,
even after you
have played enough to "earn" them. They cannot deny you cash back already
earned, but BB mailers are a different story.
This is not a complaint, or a rant. And even though I was surprised, I
understand that casinos are in business to make money. Management's
perception was
that they would not make money on my business, so they took this action.
I
can't really blame them!
So, be aware of the possibilities! You just might invest a lot of time
and
money playing a break-even game, and end up with nothing for it!
