Despite what the vpFREE database lists, and Cece the stale
vending machine food distributor/boothling thought, and common sense
would dictate, I learned the hard way that the Ellis Island slot club
day runs from 0400-0400 daily. On February 1st, I played
approximately $40,000 coin-in between 0100 and 0500. The computer
only attributed approximately 1/4 of this play to February when
determining my bounceback cash for September where the qualifying
period is February to July. Even though the card of the day starts at
midnight, and multipoint periods start at midnight, I was supposed to
possess the clairvoyance beyond any of their staff to know the slot
day doesn't start until 0400. What amazed me the most, was that
despite the fact that I have made the Elite level every single month
for 2-plus years, they were unwilling to budge on their "secret"
policy for $125 even though their own computer confirmed I had not
started play until after midnight. First I'm dissed by El Cortez, and
now Ellis Island. I guess it's hard to be appreciated by a casino
when their target clientele are drug dealers and toothless crackhead
whores. I wonder if there are any machines open at Gold Spike and The
Western?
Ellis Island Secret
You know, some of the locals referred to Ellis as the "Anti-Palms",
because the featured game was the 5-line NSUD, and the place,
amenity-wise the the opposite of the Palms. But, this of course, was
when the Palms was the Palms. Ellis is still anti-something, but I'm
not quite sure anti-what. I lost over $25K in almost four royal cycles
($2 5-line) on the CoD promo to a place where the food coupons not
only guarantee your meal is absolutely free, but without charge as
well. I should have known, the first time I played them, I got dealt
the $50K on the deal, but out of sequence. I guess 652K to 1 isn't a
big enough longshot for them.
Not all the hos there are toothless, some of them are actually pretty
good looking, but it's a good thing they have lots of security in the
parking lots. I actually don't mind the place, results notwithstanding.

Every time I see a comment like this, this being just one, I remember
a line from a previous posting "casinos are regular businesses", and
chuckle.
Casinos are increasingly coming under the management of coporations,
who like to run them professionally, just as "regular businesses",
but most casinos have to go a long way to be considered as such. Many
of them still can't seem to lose the trappings of their old sleazy
days.
In a recent mail some one said casinos tolerate quarter players and
don't consider them a threat to their operations. Whicg seemed a self-
contradiction. Consider three scenarios.
1. Quarter Players cost casino - that doesn't seem to be so, from tat
statement.
2. Quarter Players geneate a profit for the casino - then teir
attitude of "tolerating" the and that feeds them is surprising and
doesn't make business sense.
3. Quarter Players are neutral as far as casino revenue is concerned -
in that case, why not eliminate all the quarter and sub-quarter
plays and fill the space with high denomination games? The answer is
that is tantamount to shooting themselves in the foot.
Casinos are businesses; Regular, I am not sure.

I'm going to vote for anti floor covering.
Is it just me, or does the painted concrete
floor remind anyone else of a non-descript
basement rumpus room, circa 1977? I keep
waiting for one of my drunken high school
buddies to puke on my shoes when I'm in
there.
