Ellis Island Change

Ellis Island has now like some other casinos changed their slot
card readers so players can not pull their cards on winning hands to
inflate losses. If you pull your card while there are still credits on
the machine, the reader states carded session is still in progress.
Other Las Vegas casinos which I know are employing this system are El
Cortez and Palms (and I think Vegas Club although I can't remember for
sure).

Not to mention the fact that virtually all systems track every hand when
the card is in at the time of the deal. Regardless of whether it says
"carded session" or not. On the other hand most operators are smart enough
to not use actual win / loss for direct mail.

A noted EI server who requested not to be named
informed me that the Michael Jordan high rise
timeshare deal (Aqua Blue) for the area has fallen
through. So, no teardown of the neighboring Super
Eight Motel. No reason given for the change. I'm not
sure if the current new tower going up near the corner
of Flamingo and Koval is connected to the Aqua Blue
people.

The neighboring Grand Canal Apts which are slated for
demolotion by new owners are in violation of county
ordinances, big time. By law any broken window or
kicked in door has to be boarded up in a specified
time frame.
