elimination of cashback at Harrahs properties - Vegas yes, elsewhere maybe?

I checked at Flamingo Vegas today (Total Rewards) and was again told that as
of May 1 all cashback in Vegas Harrahs properties is ended.

Supposedly a letter is in the mail with details.

The Flamingo guy said this was going into effect everywhere in the Harrahs
system. But who knows.

Harrahs TR people said there is no replacement, Flamingo TR said no
replacement, Paris TR said there may be a replacement.

As usual, the only recourse seems to be to express displeasure to Harrah's

Meanwhile I find myself wondering what other amenities will be removed. Are
the benefits of 7 star such as holiday meal and free trip going to be the
next to go? Is there any incentive to play the 14,000 points I have left to
make this level this year???

Will offers of shopping sprees and tournaments be the next to go? Stay
tuned.

I have very limited experience dealing with Harrah's playing VP, but I
had always been able to get some form of cash back or at least free play
when playing VP in Tunica or in the Midwest. When I was in Tahoe last
month I did DIAD and then went to the Total Rewards booth and asked
about any cash back or free play I had on my account. They looked at me
as if I was asking to rob the place. They claim they never have
anything like that at their location. They indicated I might receive
some coupons in the mail, but it seemed to be par for the course there
to not expect anything based on my actual play during that trip. So
over $50K of coin in netted me about $120 in RC's, but np cash or free
play. I guess I should be thankful I actually got some Bonus RC and not
just base RC for my play. Whoop-de-do!

Best way to express your displeasure is to tear up your harrah's card and
mail it to them. Then tell 10 friends how cheap and tight Harrah's
properties now are. They will respond to reduced coin-in and nothing else.
