Eldorado Shreveport

Thinking of making my first trip to the Shreveport area and staying at
the Eldorado.

Can anyone give any information on vp, comps, offers, hosts, or any
other helpful information.

Thanks.

As usual, some information is in the data-base. However, I see that, unfortunately, the
casino is not monitored and thus the uncertainty as to the accuracy and timliness.

I have been to Eldorado in Shreveport a few times, with my last trip
out there Dec 2006. I play mostly quarters and sometimes
nickels. The VP there is mostly short-pay, as in 9/5 DDB, 9/6/4 DB,
7/5 BP, 8/5 JB. The Deuces wild was abysmal with Airport Deuces
about the best you will find anywhere in the casino. Interestingly,
the nickels pay tables are sometimes better than the quarter ones.

There used to be some 9/6 JB on triple play $1 machines, but that was
about 2 years ago and I didn't check the last couple times for that
again. The pay tables used to be a little better when it was
Hollywood a couple years ago - since becoming Eldorado the pay tables
appear to have downgraded. Louisiana is legislated to have a
maximum return of 99.9%, so you will not be seeing any 10/7 DB or
FPDW there ever.

Last time I was there they had some banks of slots rated as 97.5%
payback clearly marked above the machines which could be good if you
have some ladies along that like to play slots.

The rooms at the Eldorado are quite nice and very reasonable ( $80-
$100 ) if you are scheduling your trips away from major holidays and
football weekends. They have some nice restaurants, the buffet is
decent, and I enjoy the atmosphere there. Join the slot club and
you will get room offers in the mail - sometimes free rooms during
the week, or reduced rate rooms on weekends. I usually get comped
enough for some buffets and maybe $30 cash back for a couple days of
moderate play on nickel and quarter VP.

The poker room has 4/8 Limit, and 2/5 NL and it is good, but there
are a lot of locals that hang out there on Friday/Saturday nights, so
you have to be aware of possible teams on the tables during certain
times.

Blackjack is $10 minimum normally, sometimes $5 in the mornings.
The good news is at last check they were still offering normal 3/2
Blackjack instead of that 6/5 trash that is invading Vegas. Craps
is likewise normally $10 minimum, sometimes $5 during weekdays or in
the mornings.

If you are looking for good VP paytables in Shreveport, you should
consider going to the Horseshoe in Bossier City ( about 1 exit past
ElDorado going east on I-20 ). They have 8/5 BP in quarters, 50c,
and $1 - a decent supply of NSUD in quarters and 50c, some 9/7/5 DB
in quarters, 50c, and $1. The good VP machines at Horseshoe are on
the first floor just inside the doors after coming off the escalator -
the left bank of machines has good paytables - right bank is short-
pay even though they look the same from the outside.
