vpFREE_RenoOops. In my last posting, when I said
Also, I couldn't find the 3-play dollar NSUD that used to be in high limit area.
I forgot to specify that I was talking about the El Dorado.
I believe I posted here a few weeks back that for this "Blues, Brews, and Bar-B-Q" weekend, I'd booked rooms at both El D and Silver Legacy to accommodate a bunch of friends. All worked out fine.
I had 2 rooms at each. El D called the first of my 2 rooms "comped," but deducted them from my comp account. This was pretty clear from the get-go. I could have had a completely free room based on a mailed offer, but it was blacked out for the special weekend. They charged both rooms at "casino rate" ~$65/night. For room I was in, they threw in comps for the festival (free beer tastings, Bar-B-Q meal from the El D food booth outside, and a bunch of non-alcoholic drinks). Those comps were worth over $50 total. The beer tasting package (I think it was a mug plus 13 tastings) would otherwise cost $20, and the BBQ meal $5, and they gave me 2 of each.
The fact that they gave me the 2nd room at casino rate may not be automatic; I think if I'd been working with another person in the VIP room they might not have done so, since none of my friends had pre-existing El D status. Anyway, I played lots of $1 JOB prog at the Tivoli bar, with jackpot in $4500-$5500 range. It moved very slow; it didn't seem like anyone but me was playing $1 JOB on those machines. Never had problem getting open seat. Also played $1 NSUD downstairs, and quarter BP deluxe Multi Strike. Best payoffs were a dealt SF at Tivoli ($250), and two quads on the 2nd level of that Multi-Strike ($200 each). With several hours of such play on both days, I covered both rooms plus 2 meals at Brews Brothers (for 5 or 6 people; bills were in the $60-$70 range). I had to dig into my pre-existing comp balance though.
At Silver Legacy, I played 40-play nickel JOB. No huge payoffs, but OK overall, hitting a few SFs ($112.50 each). My losses came mostly at the 3-play quarter DDB 10/6. I had one dealt quads ($187.50) and two quad aces ($200). But otherwise the quads were rare, and I played fast for many hours, so $550 net loss. SL comped one room completely, and charged the other to my comp account at casino rate (also ~$65/night I think). Also got 4 tickets to SL's World Cup party on Sunday morn. Gave them to friends, who said the food at the party was great. Like the El D, my comps covered everything, but required spending some of my existing comps. Both casinos seemed to cover everything with comps, said there'd be zero balance, no silly secret charges that couldn't be comped.
Only other news is that Pepp bumped me up to Gold. Don't know how that happened, since last time I asked I was only half-way there, and I only played a few hours on Sunday. I did make one $25 craps table come bet (with 2-for-1 coupon, so when shooter rolled a 7 I won $50). Maybe they mistakenly gave me extra credit for that?! Also, I once mistakenly played Multi-Strike at the dollar level ($20/hand), but it only took me a couple hands to realize that. I still love the Pepp. I had a $25 mailed food credit, and I took one friend to the brunch buffet which was ~$18/each. The cashier gave me a 20% discount (based on my Bronze status; it was only at end of play that I became Gold) and then applied the coupon, so it was just a few dollars cash.
All tolled: on the first night, I went up ~$400 with lots of quads on the $1 JOB prog. Saturday, I lost all over, mostly at $1 NSUD and 3x quarter DDB, and bottomed out at over $1K down for the trip by the evening. Then I got dealt SF at Tivoli bar for $250 to go to bed down $850 for trip. Sunday morning I played that quarter MS BPdlx with my friend's card (the boothling warned me that any play after midnight Saturday would hurt my daily average) and recoverd $400, then the $50 craps throw at Pepp plus $50 other "profit" (actually, $50 that I didn't lose from my $200+ free play) brought the trip total to -$350, which I'm very happy with, considering no RF, no quad deuces, and no DDB kicker hands.
