We have booked air fare for a November trip to Vegas and now need to
book comped rooms. In August, we stayed at El Cortez at the beginning
of our trip and on the final day, staying at a different casino, I
headed back for a last Joker Poker fix. Unfortunately, some of the
machines had been downgraded and others were closed while the
technicians worked on them. Has anyone played Joker Poker or Double
Bonus recently at the El Cortez to confirm whether these games are full
pay or not? Thanks.
El Cortez
I found a few older model 10/7 double Bonus last week. Unfortunately
they were quarter coin machines. (No TITO)

Dear Albert Pearson,
Do you know the answer to the question? I assume that you live in
LV or have sources who might check.
I was last at the EC in April, and, as I wrote at that time, the FPJW
games were still available, both TITO and coin-droppers.
I'm scheduled to stay at the EC again in October. If FPJW is now
MIA, I will change my reservation to Silverton.
Thanks for your help!

I played there about a month ago. The $1 coin droppers were still in
service, playing at a mid-90s-esque 750 hands/hr. I don't see them
offering the full pay version for dollars ever on a TITO enabled
machine; the machines are tuned down for a reason.
Suncoast has it in quarters on new machines, but I believe this has
been posted already.

Thanks for the reply. I don't believe that I will be around to see
the EC install $1.00, or even .50c FPJW TITO machines, in my
lifetime. Actually, I think that I can run more C/I through on
the .25c TITO's than I can on the slower-than-Molasses-in January
Dollars. I'll be relieved just to learn that the good, fast quarter
FPJW TITO machines are still alive. I'll be grateful if anyone can
provide the latest info.

The best games I could find on Monday at the Luxor at $1 and up are 9/6 DDB and 15/9 NSU. Here's a list although it's probably incomplete:
(8) $5 DDB in front of cashier
many $1 (10-play) 15/9 NSU scattered around casino
(10) $5 DDB in high-limit area
(1) $1 (50-play) 15/9 NSU in high-limit
many $1/$5/$10 (3/5/10-play) 9/6 DDB and 15/9 NSU in high-limit area
I asked my host about 9/6 JoB, and she says they're evaluating it as a corporate-wide decision, meaning that the Luxor should have the same games as the other MGM casinos. So they'll either be adding 9/6 JoB back at the Luxor, or (*gulp*) taking it away at all MGM properties (they wouldn't do that, would they??). I suspect the former, since Mandalay Bay is also *slowly* adding back some 9/6 JoB.

9/6 DDB and 15/9 NSU.
Your post is greatly appreciated. It's a major difference from
the "nothing good" listed in the database for months - many deuces
players are "hungry" to play again on the Strip with the dreadful 20-
10-9-4 paytable so prevalent.
One question - isn't NSU 16/10?

The EC has become a mecca for Joker Junkies. Your chances of getting on a FP $/50C machine Fri/sat/sun afternoon is slim to none. A viable alternative is the 90/4700 machines, which are usually available. I've had some good success on these, and they are TITO....Tom

I don't live in las Vegas, I just go there a lot.
I plan on dropping in to the EC next month, and I
will post my findings then. Until then unless
someone posts some specific information, your
guess is as good as mine .

The fast .25c TITO FPJW that I played last April have all been downgraded. They still have the old slow coin droppers. Very sad, Pat
