El Cortez mailings

I usually play the $1 single line DB or $1 Triple/Five Play sub-100%
games. I have not played there in several months since Don The Dentist
got the boot. If they would trespass a respected individual like Don, I
can only imagine what would happen to me

Thanks John...now I know I'm respected by atleast two people...but
I'm not sure about my wife sometimes!

Don the Dentist

I gotta ask everyone: What is it about the El Cortez that attracts
y'all (I'm from the South, I can say "y'all")? I've always heard the
place was a dive, and would trespass anyone they thought might
actually win more than $20 from them, especially at blackjack but
apparently also at VP. I mean, the EC's reputation makes Motel 6
look like the Bellagio! What am I missing here???

Since I was the original poster of this thread, I will answer you.
The rooms in the tower at El Cortez are really pretty nice and
quiet. They are much better than any Motel 6 I have ever seen.
Also, at least until now, it was so easy to just take advantage of
the seasons pass and the mailings. My husband and I could stay 6
nights in a row and not "guarantee" any play. I am a nickel player
and did not receive many offers from anywhere else, so the El Cortez
became our casino of choice. Additionally, the food comps were easy
to get and the food decent, so that was another reason. I really
hate to see them take away their easy, free rooms, but I guess it
had to end sometime. Lisa

Adding to what Lisa said, the already pretty nice rooms are being
remodeled, the casino was remodeled about 3 years ago, and the VP is
very good, although not as good as even one year ago.
