it still takes six months for the new owners to get the keys, why irritate
the current customer base.
If EW is for sale why the current renovation of Kokopellis/Oasis bar and the
new poker room that just opened?
So anyone run into Mark "Elvis" Davis anywhere? He ran the EW BJ tourney
for
years, but vanished last spring.>>>
Remember they didn't keep GNL. Don't know when/if they started to look for
buyers but they've already had EW/CB for over a year now.
Good question about the renovations & also they laid down new carpet, fixed
the roof & major repairs on air conditioning too so they've put a lot into
renovations but EW needs a lot as it's plant is old and tired. Maybe it's like
putting money into a house to make it more saleable & you'll also recapture
the improvements with a better sale price.
I do know that MGM has quashed mailings to the higher tier of EW players.
I'm wondering if that's because they want to migrate that higher tier over to
their Vegas properties. (Park Place did this move before selling Las Vegas
Hilton.) There's some overlap in time frame between the decrease of mail from EW
& the increase from MGM properties that I have never been to.
Anyway, rumors are fun to kick around. If it comes to pass, remember you
heard it here first.
Re Mark Davis, heard that he might have joined Tony Korfman (old EW GM) at
the Hacienda in Boulder City. Mr Lucky also went there. Also the "Big Spin"
country singer might have gone there too.
Actually think Lisa & Brad running EW BJ tourney is quite an improvement
over "Elvis".
