A friend and I recently took a trip to Laughlin and on the drive home
he related the following incident to me:
Last year he cashed out either $300 or $305 from a machine at the
Edgewater. A couple minutes later he realized that he had forgotten to
take the ticket. He immediatly returned to the machine in hopes of
finding same. Nope. He then proceeded to Edgewater security
explaining the situation to them and asking them to review the security
tapes to verify that he was the player, who might have taken the ticket
and, with security cameras at the cashiers, if it had been cashed.
Edgewater security flatly refused. He went to the One Club where he
was treated with courtesy and where, either there or with their help
through the cashiers, he was informed the ticket had just been cashed.
One Club suggested he contact customer relations (or something like
that) which was in the basement of the Colorado Belle. He again
explained the situation and although treated with courtesy he
accomplished nothing. He wrote a letter, the reply to which was that
on his next trip they would put a nice basket of friut in his room. My
friend is a monthly visitor to Laughlin and probably has coin in of
over 10K for a two night stay.
Edgewater Security
Sounds like pretty standard treatment he would get at most casinos.
Typically they will not pull security tapes in this situation. I know plenty
of people at plenty of casinos who at one time or another left a ticket at a
machine (including myself). In most cases if the ticket has already been
cashed they were out of luck. There was only one incident that I recall
where they still gave him the money but I do not recall what casino it was
at.

It sounds pretty typical to me. I am sure if the ticket had been for
several thousnad dollars they might have thought about it but even
then they may not have done it. I am not sure what security could
have done even if they had seen who took the ticket.
