They were running a great VP promotion at the Edgewater. They were
adding an extra $2,000 to the progressive each day in the sportsbar
downstairs. I gave it a good shot, but the Royal Gods were not
shining on me this trip. With a choice of 36 different brews down
there, 8 different NFL games on at the same time, I enjoyed myself
anyway. When I left on Monday the progressive was still not hit from
Sunday, and was at $3400+. The Treasure Chest promotion was a very
good one also, but the lines at the One Club did get long just

Wish I'd known. As the Edgwater junkets have so few people from our neck of
the woods, will know to ask next time. By contrast, Group Sales told me they
had 74 people recently from a Long Beach junket.
Re Sports Bar promo, 1st order of business when I land is to check slot
booth & ask questions which I did but mixed it up with River Bar & didn't see
anything special. One of the employees who knew me wised me up about where &
what & I was able to hit the ground running after checking in. Played it when it
was at $5400+ (7%). Even at that level, it was never close to being full as
many seats were still open. The promo was for the month of Oct.
My policy is to not post real attractive plays like this as it will be
burned out & then there might be other repercussions such as lowering of pay
tables which hurts the occasional visitor in the long run. Apparently the wise
guys that were playing it were not phoning in for help as I didn't see many new
people coming in up to the time it was hit.

site. Sometimes plays disclosed in the database have become

database than I would have by not having it and keeping good plays
to myself. To benefit by the databases and non-disclose is to act
like a parasite and puts one on par with the lowest practices by
casinos.
David has a valid point here but I wouldn't express it as harshly. We waver
between strict & loose interpretation as it suits us. For instance, there
have been many threads that should have gone to to FreeVPFree which didn't.
David, you're right there are parasites here. But we're all parasites to
some extent. On top of the parasite food chain are the casinos, then somewhere
below are the pros, the advantage players, the comp hogs, the scammers & I
hate to imagine what else.
Part of the frustration in this criticism is the fact that there's a good
play out there that we don't know about. If it were broadcast to the world, it
would be burned out and other defensive measures implemented incrementally
such as:
-- general lowering of paytables
-- tightening of comps
-- special comp restrictions for vp players and/or restrictions on vp
machines
So comparing the short-term gratification of knowing about a good play vs
the long-term penalties, you would choose.....? Most of us out-of-towners get to
experience the good play for a few days so the effect of advantage play is
limited vs the constant pounding of pro play & the negative machine returns
for the casinos.
Also your criticism is directed toward those who contribute (though not
within your guidelines) & you're not saying anything about the much larger group
who never contribute. So why should those who contribute feel guiltier than
those who don't?
I, for one, do not feel guilty about not baring my soul or plays. In other
ways, I've tried to be a contributing member of this community.
If that isn't good enough then I should have a lot of company when I
unsubscribe.
