The EW and CB readers are quite touchy sometimes. There is a time-out
feature for inactivity, maybe 5 minutes? If you are shooting the bull at a bar or
waiting for a handpay/hopper fill it will time-out on you. "Please reinsert
card" is the message.

A few months ago I had a problem at RP on the Game Kings playing Deuces. I
put exactly 500 points on my card (before the new guys showed up, $1/point).
These points never showed up. I talked to the boothlings, who told me to
contact a floor person. The floor person got a tech and of course demonstrated
that the reader was working right. No satisfaction.

This is a common problem, and one that we can very easily overlook. A
quick trip to the restroom will usually trigger this time out
feature. I will say however, that it happens at most casinos, not
just the EW or CB. I did have a problem one time at the CB next door
a few years ago. They used to have the sessions displayed on the
reader, and when you completed the session, it would say "
congratulations ...... you have xx number of points earned. I glanced
up one time, and I thought I saw the name of Denise scroll by. I paid
more attention the next time, and sure enough, it said Denise. Now I
do not look like a Denise at all, but I guess I gave her a bunch of
points. I took out my card, and put it back in, and it then had the
correct information. I lost about an hour of play on that one, but I
never thought to call anyone over to correct the situation. I guess
we should all pay more attention to the readers!!
