While playing FPDW at the Edgewater I suddenly noticed that the
display for the players card was reading: Please reinsert card. This
after about racking up about 20 points without touching the card.
Furthermore, all points in that session which had previously accrued
on my card were gone. Sometimes it takes a minute or two for points
to record. Not this time -- they were gone. After talking with
casino personnel, who were quite helpful, they took a report and
apparently there is a means to access a machines play history during
a specific time period and the next day the points had been added.
Has anyone else had similar problems at this casino?
Edgewater Point Loss
Played at EW the first weekend in December and put 1312 points on the card during that time. Didn't have any problems with the card readers. Played almost entirely on the FPDW. They had a holiday shopping promotion going on. They gave $20 in vouchers to spend at their roadshow for every 100 points earned (no point reduction). They also gave me $150 in vouchers to start with. Spent the $410 for gifts for the family.
Hit the deuces once at the Edgewater, River Palms, and Pioneer. I still do not have a royal in Laughlin for playing there the last five years! ;( While my wife has most of her royals in Laughlin.

So how was the merdandise? Looking at the literature it looked like
they were selling this stuff too. Maybe next time.
My EW E-mail weekly offers dried up. Anyone been still getting
them?
E-Mail weekly offers??? I have never received those. I get mail
offers for free rooms, shopping, fights, new years eve, superbowl
parties etc., but never weekly offers through the e-mail. I am on
their e-mail list (or so I thought), but I get offers maybe once
every month or less. Perhaps you get some special offers because your
are a high roller at the EW, or live closer? This marketing system is
sure mysterious.....

Actually upon review the last e-mail offer I recieved was on 12/3 for
the $100,000 Treasure Chest promo. Four comped nights January 5-8 or
11-15. Included is one free prize. So it is still valid.
My history of free offers started on 8/25 for two nights. Another
similiar offer on 9/5. In October they went nuts. E-mails on
3,7,10,13,18,20,24 and 29. On 11/4 a Diamonds offer and 11/7.
The offers first excluded folks from Laughlin and Bullhead City.
Then they excluded Mohave County (Kingman and Lake Havasu).
Most only had a 7-10 day notice, for 4 nights. I am 183 miles away.

My mailer for Oct/Nov/Dec is pay $11 for three nights, sun-thurs and
a 2/1 buffet. I also recieved a birthday comp postcard for January,
4 nights and a special gift.

Some of the stuff was OK, some was junk. You could buy the stuff for half of the listed voucher price. We kept a running total so that we stayed within our voucher limit.
I have been getting "weekly" offers from EW for November thru December. These were for specific dates with some kind of show/event tickets included. My latest offer is for 4 free nights anytime for January plus 2 tickets to the Laughlin Desert Challenge race. 4 free nights anytime in Feb including 2 tickets for the super bowl party. Plus $50 for each month of Jan and Feb. I also got an offer for 4 nights and the new years party but it was full when I called.
We usually stay and play at River Palms but decided to give EW some action. We still get the RP offers minus the 10X point coupons and the extra $25 comp checks. RP now splits the monthly bounce back check to one for the first half and the second for the last half of the month. If you time your stays, you can cash both checks either at the end/beginning or at the middle of the month. My wife and I each receive $25 for twice each month and two free nights twice a month. We each got four RP logo t-shirts the previous month and I got a logo polo shirt on this last trip for getting 750 points. We still have about $350 in our comp balance at RP.

Dennis,
Your play at RP is a bit stronger than mine. My solo play gets me
$10 bounces. December room offers are comped again, after the
discount rate and 2/1 the last two months. I am looking for the
edge...to get the comped nights from the new folks.
My sources of gossip come from Sherry, the salon owner, and
bartenders. I always have a session with Kevin (daytime, obnoxious
laugh) at the Shipwreck bar upstairs and with the boys down in the
Bermuda Club.
They goofed by eliminating the kiosk coupon use with food comps.
Also, I can't use a comp slip for a haircut anymore.
Why can't the Multistrike games be in a quieter area?
The rooms are fine, but do not like the universal soap.

So true about the soap. We still bring soap bars that we accumulated from Sam's Town.
The last trip RP gave us a handicap room because that was the only one available with a king bed and nonsmoking. On the previous trip, the RP room was missing the coffee maker but the handicap room had one. Edgewater has both soap bars and coffee makers, at least in the Sedona tower.
I put more points on the card at RP but my wife has gotten the same offers lately. Prior to the new owners, I always got the bigger bounce back checks. I play mostly 25c FPDW. On the last weekend trip(2N+3D), I put about $6K thru RP and $13K thru EW.
We have been going to Laughlin more since the Sam's Town offers have been more restrictive (two nights midweek + $25 food comps).
