Edgewater food offers -- more

I forgot to mention that those 40 or 20 point redemptions for food
require that the points be earned the day you redeem them. Yesterdays
points, last weeks points or last months points seem to be valid only
for cashback redemption.

On the matter of comp balance, as one whose stayed at the Edgewater I
have noticed that my comp balance can be debited for the room even
though the room is comped. Throwing a tissy fit (rant and rave) at a
boothling usually gets the debit reversed.

"I forgot to mention that those 40 or 20 point redemptions for food

Assuming you can. Last night at EW I tried to redeem 40 points I had
earned that day for the free/$1 buffet. Was told "Your points aren't
here yet, they're travelling."

???

It was explained to me multiple boothlings that even though I had
earned 165 points that day and they could see that, they points
weren't "physically" there at Edgewater. They were "travelling" to
One Club home base in Las Vegas and would post at Edgewater later on.
When, nobody knew.

And since my points weren't "physically" at Edgewater yet, their
system said I had earned no points that day (even though the
boothlings could somehow see, correctly, that I had earned 165).

And since you can only redeem same-day earned points for the free
buffet, and the relevent part of the system said I had earned no
points, I couldn't get the free buffet.

I am now convinced that slot club hiring ads start with "Do simple
solutions to simple problems have no place in your world? Are you
able to give laughably implausible excuses for abysmal customer
service to paying customers without the slightest trace of apology?
Then have we got the job for you!"

I've never had a problem redeeming points for food with a boothling,
although sometimes the points are slow to arrive (they do travel and
if it's raining they travel real slow). However I've certainly had
interesting experiences with my comp balance. Last trip I checked
here at home before leaving and my comp balance at the Edgewater was
$4. After a few thousand dollars of play my comp balance, according
to a boothling, was zero. At the host office it still showed zero
but my play showed on their 'puter and I had no trouble getting comps
(no point reduction) for both dinner and the next mornings breakfast
for both the wife and I. Also, you can redeem points late afternoon
or early evening with a boothling for the next days breakfast -- at
least I've done it several times. A few thousand dollars more play
and when I got home my comp balance was still zero. I've been told
by both a boothling and at the host office than comp balances accrue
very slowly. Just how much slower can it get? One last point: These
experiences occurred when I stayed at the Edgewater. When staying
elsewhere I suspect the accrual rate is quite different (you really
do get some comp balance). Can anyone verify this?
