Edgewater Comps

I don't think anyone has really figured this out yet. Went to the
slot club desk at the Edgewater to use some of my comp balance or
points for food. Best deal, so I was informed, was for 40 points
each for my wife and I got $7.95 for each of us at the Garden Room
(no mention of this on any signs that I could see). The next morning
morning I decided to see if this deal was still on thinking I would
do a couple of breakfast buffets for 40 points each. Nope -- that
deal was only for people with no comp balance. But, I pointed out, I
had a comp balance of $37 the previous night and got the this 40
point deal. I was informed that whoever did that deal for me was in
error. Ok, said I, let's debit my comp balnce of $37. But I was now
informed that my comp balance was $22. But, but, but.. it was $37
last night. Oh, she explained, if you're staying at the hotel the
computer automatically debits $15 off your comp balance. Oh? says I,
it was a FREE room. Since it was after 8 AM she called whomsoever
and had that reversed. What other manipulations are done I have no
idea. I do know that I had this coupon good for one day of my
choosing during the month in which I would get $10 cashback for 100
points earned during that day, or $25 for $250 points, $50 for 500
points and so on. Now it turns out that if you earn 100 points that
would, without the coupon, earn you $2.50 cash back (0.25%) and $2.50
in comp (another 0.25%). What is not apparent is that in useing this
one day of the month coupon and getting your 1% cashback they not
only debit the points for that day (that's fair) but also the comp
earned for that day (not so fair). I'm sure there's are more twists
that I'm unaware of. And I'm sure the rules keep flexing.
