Reports from Mark Heywood:
This is Mark Heywood, Casino monitor for Colorado Belle and
Edgewater in Laughlin NV. I have just returned from a trip
to Laughlin and have information to post for both Hotels.
The Mandalay group has sold all their Casinos to the MGM
consortium. As of Jan 3 the "One club" cards are still in
use. The affected Casinos in the take over are Edgewater,
Colorodo Belle, Circus Circus, Slots a Fun, Mandalay Bay,
Luxor, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, Circus Circus-Reno.
Management assumes that new player's club cards will be
issued soon. The sale of the Casinos happened sometime last
year but the actual takeover was Jan. 1, 06. We will see
what shakes out.
I have trip reports to post as follows...
Edgewater, Just returned from the Edgewater, Jan 4th, and
the new management from MGM had not changed anything yet,
one club cards still being used and all the noted full pay
machines were still in place. Eat for $1.00 special was
still running. (Cash in 40 points, the equivilent to 1.00
pay back, and get a comp for any buffet.) I hit one royal
at the O'Aces bar on the progressives. The buffet is still a
great value (if you don't get it comped) and still the best
in Laughlin. The comp rates for rooms seem to have changed.
I am a $3000 coin in per day player and this used to get me
a room comp whenever I wanted. Now I qualify for free rooms
on weekdays only and half price on weekends, however I
recieve fliers offering me free weekend stays so who knows?
All in all, we had a great time and good luck. If you go,
find Brian, my favorite bartender, during day shift at the
O'Aces bar and tell him Mark from the website sent you and
he'll show you my lucky machines. Hopefully the new

Trip report for Colorado Belle

Just returned from a trip to Laughlin and the Colorado
Belle. The takeover by the MGM group has not changed
anything yet. One club card is still in use at the time of
this writing and points are still good. I did hit a royal on
the progressives at the shooters bar. Bob the bartender over
there on day shift finally and actually retired sadly. He
was a lot of fun. All full pay machines listed in the
directory are still in place and hopefully will remain so
under the new management. We shall see as the takeover for
the new team there was the 1st on Jan. 06. I am returning in
