I had hoped it would not be as bad as reported.
The full pay machines are not just slow, they
are virtually unplayable. Hard to believe that
this play was a threat to the Casino bottom line.
For the mistake free "pro" it could have been a $15-$16 an
hour play with 1200 hands an hour, at best. If the now VP slot manager
had done the math and reviewed the records I would bet
the machines were breaking even or even making some money. Good
players still eat, drink, tip and buy other goods and services. A real
shame. It was a nice place to play.

i think it is time to add a new term to the vp vocabulary to address
this situation and downgrades in general...as an accurate description
i nominate the "dancer effect"...

And totally trivial I know, but the squawk-like sound those machines
make when you play a hand is really annoying. How does a gaming
company come up with that?
