Eastside Cannery. How are the rooms, service, restaurants etc.?

I believe it's the the one near Sams Town. If not, I'm interested in the newest of the Vegas casinos in Cannery group.

Thanks.

You are correct it is next door to Sam's Town.

I don't know about the rooms or the restaurants, but the service from their Hosts suck, and they don't reply to emails sent to customer service.
If you are hoping to get comped there, don't get your hopes up to high. I was turned down for a lunch comp after putting in over 8k of play.

I believe they are strictly for locals or ultra low rollers who are happy to pay for everything.

Regards

Okay, I'll give this one a go. We're locals and have been receiving a "2 night free stay" coupon in our monthly High Flyer mailers. We've used these three times now. The rooms are nice and they have floor to ceiling windows for a great view. They've been advertising rooms "starting at $29.95" Of course, the closer you get to the weekend, the higher the rate goes. But, they are great rooms for the price. The last time we used the free rooms, we added 4 mores nights, which we ended up getting comped at check-out; along with a coffee shop meal we had charged to the room.

The coffee shop, Snaps, is just okay. If you need something quick, we prefer the Deli by the Sports Book. They used to have some great specials, like the Parlay Burger for $4.99, which includes fries and USED to include a fountain drink. Now, you have to buy the drink. Still a good price though. They have breakfast choices too.

As of yesterday, the Buffet still wasn't completed. They tried several restaurant concepts in the space called Sweet Lucys. The latest was an "Express" buffet. Not good. The new Buffet is supposed to open May 16th, at least that's the latest we heard. We haven't tried any of the other restaurants there.

As to the Host situation, right after they opened, we got a letter of introduction from one, a female, can't remember her name. Later, we learned that she was no longer employed there. That explains why she never returned our messages. We still don't know the name of our Host, or if we actually have one. On our last visit, someone, behind the scenes, okayed our comps.

I might add, if you are trying to use a coupon of any kind, bring it! Apparently, neither the front desk nor the slot club have the ability to look at the database to see if you actually received any offer. They require you to physically present the coupon. Overall, we still like this property.

Nor do they respond to phone calls. I agree completely with the statement above.

A few additional observations after staying at the Eastside for a total of 26 nights in December and April:

1) Casa Coscina (Mexican) is only fair.
2) Carve (Steak) - lacks ambiance, better quality steaks may be found
at other locals casinos. The seafood is all frozen.
3) Snaps (coffee shop) - we have had several good breakfasts including
                    $1.99 mid week specials.
4) Do not request a complimentary upgrade at check-in to a deluxe
room. We will were billed for the higher price,
but I managed to have the extra charges removed.
5) The pool area is the best on Boulder Highway which is not saying
much. Not many people use it during the week.
6) Marilyn's Lounge has some excellent bands playing on weekends
                    recently.
7) Request a room away from the elevators.
8) There are still fairly long lines at the slot booth.

I think Snaps, the coffee shop is really very good. I use it as a replacement for Sam's Town lack of having one.
