My E. Cannery mailer had a coupon saying I had free play from Dec. 8 through
Dec. 21. This has always meant that you can collect it ON Dec. 21, which is
today. In addition, it actually says on the coupon, in fine print, "Any
remaining promotional slot play will expire AFTER (caps are mine) last date and
will not be available."
So I make the 20 mile drive, try to download the FP, display says zero FP
available. I go to the slot club, wait in line, explain the problem to Laura
(who was very nice), she calls a supervisor on the phone. Supervisor tells her
that the FP was on my card, but it expired at midnight, the midnight BEFORE
12/21 begins. I ask to speak with the supervisor, Laura gets her on the phone
for me. I explain that the coupon actually SAYS that the FP expires "after
last date," with "last date" being today. She is a bit condescending, tells me
that "as a courtesy" she will authorize me to get the FP. I explain that it
is not a courtesy to honor what is actually printed on the coupon, but thank
her anyway.
So, just to be safe, I recommend that you all collect your Eastside Cannery
FP BEFORE the last date on the coupon. Unless you want to go through the
scenario I went through today.
