East Chicago/Hammond

The video poker area at the Majestic Star has much better playing conditions than the 1st floor at Harrah's East Chicago. The third floor area at Harrah's is probably slightly better in regards to playing conditions.

The big difference is that every machine in the Majestic Star's video poker area has at least one full pay game all the way down to pennies! Most of the machines are new and all have TITO. They will be adding more games when they open the sports bar in three weeks.

I will be at Harrah's E. Chicago tomorrow to pick up the jacket that all local Diamond members are getting. Unless there has been a recent change, they have zero full pay games. That is why no meets at Harrah's, they are all at the Majestic Star.

I do not know what there arrangement is with Trump as far as room comps are concerned. The Trump hotel on the same grounds is better than the Empress but inferior to both local Harrah's hotels.

By the way, Trump also has about 100 full pay games (Mostly NSU deuces and 9-5 Triple Pay Plus) for quarters and dollars.

In my opinion, the buffet has improved. Trump's Deli is also pretty good. I have not eaten at their upscale restaurant.

The recent comments about the Majestic have me thinking about giving
it another shot. For those of you who frequent the M, may I ask for
some input:

1. I am a "regular" in Joliet and have no problem getting a comped
room. As the M has no hotel, would you suggest I give Harrah's
minimal play to keep the free room offers coming (they currently
send me 4 free rooms a month for EC)? Does M comp rooms at a local
hotel and if so, how would you rate the hotel? Or, should I just be
prepared to come for day trips and not spend any nights (from
Milwaukee area)?

2. I was only at M once many years ago and I recall it being very
dumpy - has it been renovated or should I expect what I remember?

3. What are the meal options?

4. Are there ever any planned "meets" in EC? I often travel/play
alone and find it a nice diversion to meet other members and have
someone to share a meal with.

Thanks for any input in advance. I'm leaving for Vegas in 11 days
and can't wait to be in a city where I have LOADS of options of
places to get my FPVP itch scratched : )

Majestic will comp rooms at Trump. The room comps are pretty easy.

Trump Hotel is nothing special. Call MS and ask to talk to a host.
Most of the hosts are pretty new to gaming so be patient. Explain
you level of play and what you want to do. They are competing
heavily with Harrah's and don't get as many big players as Harrah's
does.
