I have 13 days in Vegas (longest time ever) and I could drive to Reno, I have
never been there.... I live in the East.
The drive is long and not at all interesting (I do the drive halfway to Reno,
to Tonopah every couple of months) on a mainly two-lane road. If seeing the
outsides of a couple of old brothels is of interest, if fighting with eighteen
wheelers on two-lane roads is interesting, if hundreds of miles of nothing to
see is interesting, go for it. There are a couple of small towns en route
but they have nothing more than perhaps a place to have a mediocre meal and
gamble at poor odds in the casinos. Otherwise, if you want to see Reno, which
I've seen a few times but don't really remember, consider taking a plane (others
can tell you better about Reno - I have good memories of being there and I'll
be driving there for a ten-day convention in March). If you have only a
couple of days to see Reno, don't spend them on the road. Just my opinion but it's
pretty educated since I know the way halfway by car.
