Drinks, food  at Mohegan Sun

Thanks for the tips, everyone! My husband is a steak guy, so it sounds like
MJ's would be best for him. My girlfriend loves Italian, so we'll try Pompeii.
I have read mixed reviews about Tuscany so I was thinking Pompeii might be the
better choice for Italian.

At the bar, just put a $10 in for free drinks.

I'm assuming by this, you mean if we put $10 in the VP machines at the bar,
the drinks are free? That would explain my confusion. I see some people being
charged for drinks, others not. I just couldn't "get" what their system was.
(Top shelf booze? Bartender is in a bad mood? VIP treatment?) Well, the $10
won't be a problem. At $5 a hand, I am usually stuffing $100 bills into those
machines like it is Monopoly money! But eventually, what goes down, does come up -
most of the time!

And don't worry, I have had to stand around waiting for a machine enough
times to know better than to sit at one (or to allow my companions to sit at one)
and NOT play. Most the bars seem to have some seats with no machines in front
of them so if my hubby or my girlfriend can't take the stress of playing VP
(and having me tell them how to play every hand!), I promise we won't take up
valuable space in front of a VP machine.

Thanks again! Hopefully I can make some money this trip, in between all the
merrymaking. My last trip was pretty uneventful. Over the course of 8 sessions,
I managed to lose $1900, and win $1900! You wouldn't believe how hard I tried
to come out ahead at that last session, even $10! But time after time, I
would reach that break even point and start heading down again. Finally I figured
there are worse things than breaking even, and decided to leave happy with all
those comps I earned. (But a little extra cash in my pocket would have been
nice too!) Maybe I'll have better luck this time!

Thanks again, everyone!

Your best bet is to make reservation in advance for
both restaurants especially on weekends.

Putting a $10 in the machine will get you most drinks
fro free but not top shelf unless you're Sagamore or
Sachem. Vodka is up to Ketel One or any draft beer is
comped.

If you're playing $1 you may want to try to get into
one of the lounges after 4-5 hrs.

Good luck
