Does the payback remain the same even though you're spending twice as much
for the base game?

No, it increases slightly.

Much of the information you seek is at the site:
http://wizardofodds.com/dreamcard
You will also see examples where the machine does not automatically choose the best replacement card. At the time of publication I agreed with Wizard of Odds since I had experienced the same occasional mistake in actual casino play. However, more recent sessions have shown those errors to be corrected when similar hands are dealt. Nevertheless, always take a moment to examine the Dreamcard choice to see if it agrees with the correct strategic play.

---I'm not sure what you are saying. I've noticed discrepancies a few times
but you can't change the dreamcard so what does that matter? Are you saying
the machine is "not fair" in some way?
Scot
The Dreamcard cannot change suit on the machine I played at harrah's.

You might want to double check that machine; that is not the norm.

---As I mentioned, I played them a few times and never noticed it either, if
it was there but I will check it out again soon.
