Dream trip for VP - 3 royals in 3 days

Howdy,

I'm a new poster, but I've used the site database for a long time.

Anyway, I went to Vegas April 16-19 on an offer from Main Station
(free room, 25-dollar food credit and double points).

As usual, MSS was great -- especially the Triple 7 brewpub, which has
become the trip-kickoff location for the group of guys I go with
twice a year.

On to the VP report:

I try to play full-play VP, but I'm a sucker for DDB and the 10-6
version is pretty rare. So I mostly play the 9-6 version.

SUNDAY NIGHT

- Played DDB and won at the California (alcove above dice pit), plus
$375.
- Later played DDB on machines just in front of the buffet entrance
at MSS. Ended up with a spade royal (held 4, drew King), so ended the
first night up approx. $1,000.

MONDAY

- Some play in the morning at MSS, but a losing session.
- Met friends down at Bally's, lost $300 on roulette, BJ and live
poker. Some VP losses at Barbary Coast.
- Monday night back to MSS for a losing session.

TUESDAY

- Played on the 10-6 DDB machines at Wynn from 11:30a to 5pm while my
buddy played in a poker tournament there. Did terrible - maybe down
$350.
- Later played at Casino Royale will buddy cleaned up on three-card
poker. Another losing session.
- Met friends at Paris by 8 p.m. VP wasteland, but I found 9-5 DDB at
the quarter level and proceded to go on a tear. Got my second royal
of the trip around 11 p.m. All got many special quads. So after
struggling since late Sunday night, I rebounded in a big way to be up
about $700. Ended up cabbing it back to MSS at 4 a.m.

WEDNESDAY

- After not being able to sleep, I went down to the MSS casino about
5 a.m. Played the same DDB multis in front of buffet for 45 mins. and
made another couple of hundred.
- At about 6 a.m. I got tempted by the jackpot tote board above the
dollar DDB machines directly in front of the casino cage. The
progressive was up to $6,330. It would be the first time I played at
the dollar level all weekend. I told myself $200 was my limit on
these. First machine on the left (looking south toward pit) took my
$100 in about 5 minutes. Middle machine wouldn't take my bill.
Machine on the right did take it, and quickly gave me quads so I had
some money to work with.
- Then about 15 minutes later I drew two high clubs to complete a
royal -- and just about passed out. The $6,331 surpassed my previous
high jackpot of $4,440 on a progressive $1 VP at Circus Circus Reno
10 years before. It's an amazing feeling as they count out 63
hundreds into your hand.

Good luck to you all.

- Bob

P.S. MSS really does treat VP players well!

It's an amazing feeling as they count out 63

hundreds into your hand.

Yes it is and may you enjoy that feeling many more times in the future! Congratulations!

MO

that was quite a trip...in all senses of the word...

You certainly had a dream trip! I hope mine (leaving tuesday) is half
as fruitful! Congratulation!
