Harrah's/New Orleans

I enjoy downtown too. I generally come in and spend sometime in downtown and
some on the strip. They are two different vacation spots with their own
unique amenitites. I particularly like coffee at Starbucks in front of Golden
Nugget to start the morning. My friends and I are always looking for reasonable
places to eat both downtown and on the strip. I'll try the Fremont buffet
next time I come.

But my question was about Harrah's New Orleans--do they have accomodations
beyond gambling? I haven't been to N'Awlins in several years and am thinking
of making that trip soon. I love that town, and this time I want to pick up
on several of the jazz spots. Any advice is welcomed!

Harrah's New Orleans is located right downtown - you can walk to see

the sights or take the trolley that stops right at Harrah's door.
The accommodations at Harrah's was very, very nice - if you are a
cardholder you will get your room/food free. Our stay was a short
one - got there Tues night and left Thur morning but did take the
trolley to Cafe DuMonde for beignets - and bought a box of mix to
make at home. We did hear that if you go out at night - you must be
very careful because of the crime so we ventured out during the
afternoon and didn't have any problems. My advice would be to take
the trolley instead of walking if you are going out at night - they
run all the time and the fare is cheap - I think it was under $1.00.
Hope I helped you! B.
