Downtown Deuces Strategy - - VP related ! !

How should I approach Downtown Deuces?

Is it sensible to view this game a variation of FPDW? Any suggestions
for easily altering FPDW strategy?

What does the variance of 56 mean compared to FPDW variance of 26?

The DDs at Sams Town are excruciating but at least you get full points

on them. Somewhat bettter using NSUD vs FPDW strategy but still close to a vacuum in your pocket. --- In vpFREE@yahoogroups.com, "testpro" <testpro@y...> wrote:

I'll confirm that ... NSU strategy improves ER by .02% over FP.
Either way, I'd prefer to know the actual game strategy cold.

Carefully, and with sufficient bankroll. <g>

I am assuming that you are referring to the best deuces payoff to be
found at the El Cortez & the Vegas Club. If that is the case, I
have lots of experience playing this game (one of my all time
favorites) in the casinos as well as practicing on BDWP.

If you also have BDWP, and want to sharpen your skills at
DwnTwnDeuces, change the 5 coin payoffs on the "Deuces Deluxe" game
(which, I believe, is now quite rare, if not extinct) as follows:

RF - 4700
4Deuces - 2000
Nat.SF - 65
WRF - 125
5OK - 80
Nat.4OK - 20
WSF - 65
W4OK - 20
FH - 15
FL - 10
ST - 10
3OK - 5

IMO, Yes. The big changes are in SF holds, due to high pay off for
a SF. For example, unlike FPDW, with one deuce, you would save
suited 4/5 and suited 5/7 or 6/8 (and higher of course.)

Also, since the deuces pay "double", there are more hands where you
should hold 2 bare deuces. If you are very accurate at FPDW,
practicing this version at home should make you sufficiently
proficient after a few sessions, to tackle the real thing in LV.

That you need a larger bankroll than when you're playing FPDW. This
is primarily because, if you don't pop a royal, or the deuces, you
will lose your money more quickly.

I LOVE this game. But, I can tell you from personal experience, that
it can be very costly to play. OTOH, early one morning, while waiting
for my husband to join me for breakfast, I snared the deuces THREE
times in an hour and a half! After breakfast, I played it some more
and popped a royal. Unfortunately, this machine, which used to be
located in the alcove across from the bar, is now MIA. ) - :

Good luck!

I've never visited Sam's Town. Can you tell me if their DDW are the
standard DDW found downtown ? I'm NOT talking about "downtown deuces",
but the variation that pays 55 coins for the SF, and 4000 for the RF.

Thanks.

The Sam's Town Deuce's pay schedule follows:

1-2-3-4-4-10-10-20-400-800 ... 100.95%

With the 3 for a flush, 4 for FH and 4 for 4oak, the strategy MAY be
more similar to NSUD, but the SF, 5oak and Wild Royal payback is low.
Always hold only 3 deuces, four to a flush rather than a pair, and two
pair.

"the variation that pays 55 coins for the SF, and 4000 for the RF."
I think you mean Double Deuces with a 99.7% payback.

Thanks for your prompt response! Yet another variation of Deuces that
is still playable with the appropriate bankroll. I think, though, that
the downtown version is still more appealing to me.

Anyway, I'll have a chance to try it out next week! 7 days and
counting!

Sam's Town "Bonus" Deuces (Deuces Pay Double)
Normal strategy - 100.94%
NSU strategy - 100.63%
FPDW strategy - 100.06%
All: w/o pen cds. (calculated with FVP)
