Downgraded (again)

Just thought I'd pop on and pass along some interesting info. Some
of you may remember that I was downgraded from Sachem to Sagamore
around this time last year. My host called me last week to let me
know that my Sagamore status would "probably not" be renewed by the
computer.

I have certainly stopped visiting Mohegan Sun as frequently as I
used to (at my peak a few years ago before the good VP became
overplayed, I was visiting them maybe 3 times a month). But I do
still visit at least once every 2 months or so (maybe 7-8 times a
year now). When I do visit MS, I still give them the same level of
play that I always did, which is about $80K coin-in per day.
Sometimes slightly less, sometimes a lot more.

My host seemed to have some incorrect information when I asked what
the requirements were for Sagamore. She said that there was both a
trip frequency requirement (which is apparently new, and which I do
not meet), and an ACTUAL loss requirement of $30K per year (which,
thankfully, I also don't meet). I told my host that I didn't
believe that I had ever lost $30,000 in a single year (I KNOW I
haven't), and was she sure that the loss requirement wasn't based on
theo? She responded that to her knowledge it was $30,000 actual. I
asked what the requirement was for Sachem, since I used to have a
Sachem card, and she said $150,000 actual loss. She said the loss
requirement had always been in place. For the 18 months that I had
a Sachem card, I was actually positive at MS by a fair amount, so
this is obviously false. I hope you Sachem card holders haven't
lost that much, because guaranteed lounge access seems like a small
consolation. =)

Just thought I'd pass this along in case any of you only take a few
big trips a year. I'm 99% sure that the actual loss requirement is
bad info (if they're not using theo anymore, my guess is that most
Sachem/Sagamore card holders will be losing their cards), but the
trip requirement might be something new.

What's sad( and this doen't apply to just Mohegan), is that so many
employees( particularly hosts) do not ( or have not been given),
correct information to give to customers. I can't tell you how many
times I've had to explain certain rules/requirements to casino
employees.

Bill et al,
This is intriguing as my Sagamore wife (2006 Sachem) returns as a
Sagamore but I was upgraded to Sagamore.
Here's my hypothesis:
1) 14 days of gambling for her @1,500 theo/day (~30K/day 90% PE)
2) 12 days of gambling for me @500 theo/day (~10K/day)
3) Since March, actual loss on my card of ~$3K
4) Since March, actual ahead on her card by $2K
6) Host called wife yesterday. Booked into the 10/27 $75K tournament
THEREFORE
A) Host knew wife did not make Sachem.
B) Called to provide her "consolation" prize.
C) Wife did not mention Sachem status issue.
D) I got upgraded to Sagamore which has less value than having
Sachem status Wife (including a wife with high self-esteem :-))
RESULTS

Pissed off and Formerly Sachem Wife proceeded to book another trip
offer from Harrah's Reno end of November and the LV Harrahs $400
transportation voucher offer end of this month. I think I am going
to Reno with her in November but I couldn't get much out of her....
!!She was too busy packing for the Harrahs Laughlin trip offer -
Plane left from Providence tonight!!
We just got back from Reno on Monday night (thanks Harrahs :-))
HYPOTHESIS
Competition is wonderful.
