Even if EV is unchanged--will you accumulate points faster w/double-up than
playing another dealt hand?

Almost all casinos exclude doubling from points inasmuch as they have
no advantage on the wager. An exception to this (at present) is
Barbary Coast due to their coin-out countdown. It's my understanding
that this is not the case at Suncoast despite a coin-out system.

No, there's no additional coin-in involved.

I argued against double up a few months ago, then like a hypocrite I tried
it out briefly last week. Proved to myself again why it's not a good idea.
It's like playing vp and then switching to lotto.

Also, pay attention to pay tables on double up machines, as they may be
lower. That was the case last week, where the double ups were 8/5 jb, if I
remember correctly. A friend quipped that anyone would be nuts to play
those machines, unless they did double up.
