I was just learning to play video poker, playing on a nickle macine a
double bonus game. I held two cards to a royal and got the royal. A
nice 200.00 pot. I waited for the machine to stop counting my credits
and presses the max button again, another two cards to a royal, held
the cards and got another royal, back to back. Another 200.00 win.
What is the chances of this? I have a question for the board, does the
denomination increases your chances for a royal?

Depending on the pay schedule, a royal cycle is about 48,000 hands for
this game. To hit them back-to-back, you get a probability of
1/48,000 X 1/48,000, or 1 in 2,304,000,000 (that's 2 BILLION!). The
denomination doesn't change your chance for a royal, just the game and
its pay schedule. Congrats on the hit,

That would be the odds of hitting ANY two RFs back to back.
In this case you're looking for the odds of hitting 2RF twice. First
of all you need to compute the odds of getting them back to back (not
too easy to compute because to need to eliminate all the hands with
2RF where you don't hold them) and then muliply that by 16215^2 to
get the real value.
Really big. That's the technical term for being too lazy to figure it
out.
