Double Down Scoop

After the initial Deal, and the secondary Draw, if you are in a Double
Down situation, what is the genealogy of the cards that are dealt there?

Do they belong to the original deck from which the Deal and Draw cards
are subtracted? Or, are they from a fresh 52 (+plus Joker/s) card deck?

Is it wise to go for the double down at all? I was playing a 50 cent machine $5 a pull and hit a wild card royal paying $500.

Ah, but that's a different question. My question is mostly for academic
purposes.

If it comes to that, is it wise to gamble at all? Considering that the
vast majority of VeePers pay for the few skilled players?

One might say that everybody can play as skillfully as Bob & Jean, with
some practice. But as some recent posts mentioned, if that were to
happen, the casinos would easily turn the spigots off, degrading the
paytables or withdrawing the lucrative games.
